Nirvana. Let's talk about them. They changed good rock to crap. They're only famous because Kurt Cobain killed himself. They only had 1 good album and 1 good song. Does anyone agree with me?

yes....theyre just all noise and no talent or musicianship.....

anyone who thinks their drummer is one of the best of all time has no idea what theyre talking about. From a drummer's standpoint (me...im a drummer) he sucked. If you wanna hear some good music and some awesome drums listen to led zeppelin (john bonham was THE BEST of all time), rush (neil peart is good) and The who (keith moon was great)

While I agree that they weren't very talented. They sounded good together and wrote good songs. The listeners were tired of what they were hearing otherwise. It was time.
Now we are listening to another revolution in music. Some radio stations started playing indie music and people listened. No more are the A and R nazis throwing away stuff that they think will make a profit as much as they used to at the record (CD) companies. When you turn on the radio, I swear within ten minutes, you will hear what used to be an indie band. The songs are even on commercials now. It took 30 years before a Bob Seagar song ended up on a commercial as well as Led Zepplin. Fresh Art sells.

They were already famous before he "killed himself" (depending on what you believe). Both albums Nevermind and In Utero reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold at least ten million copies worldwide. I agree Kurt's death has amplified the mystique and appeal of the band, and has turned him into a musical martyr, but to say that they are only popular because of his death is baseless. And also, listen to a vast majority of new artists on the radio and you will hear Nirvana's influence. Like them or hate them, they defined the alternative genre and were intrical in the evolution of rock music.

Yea mainstream exploited Nirvana by overplaying that "smells like teen spirit" song waaayyy too many times..but besides that In utero was an awesome album same with bleach. Nirvana was famous before kurt's suicide and they defidently changed the whole 90's era.

I don't agree... Here's my favorite reason why:
I once saw an interview with the lead singer from the 80's band "Loverboy" where he said that Nirvana basically killed his career.

So, if it weren't for Nirvana, we might still be listening to Loverboy.

If you like modern Guitar Rock, Nirvana (re)paved the way for the guitar/bass/drums power trio, like Blink-182 and Green Day. Before Nirvana, there were lots of keyboards, saxophone, percussionists, and multitracking overdubs which got in the way of the music. Nirvana stripped rock back down to it's roots, and guitar-based rock is still the mainstream 15 years later.

Just because you may not enjoy a certain type of music doesn't mean you need to call it crap. Cuz Nirvana is very far from crap. Have you actually listened to the albums? And not just Nevermind...they have some good sh*t!! Besides they did help get rid of the ridiculous 80's hair metal bands. YEAH FOR GRUNGE AND THRASH METAL!!!

They were actually pretty famous before Kurt shot himself, they are the founding fathers of grundge music, and changed rock from an era of guns and roses and skid row to pearl jam and staind.

What do you consider "Good Rock"? Hair bands of the 80's...eww, I hope not.

Nirvana is my favorite band by the way.
