YES, FOR SURE. i am a diabetic, I have had a son, he was only 6lbs, 4 oz. NO complications, NONE , baby is fine, now in grade 5 , smart guy, dont let people tell you that there will be problems, that is up to you. I tested blood 4 times and up per day. I visited doctor more often because it is a highrisk pregnancy. See dr. before getting pregnant, and please follow his instructions, this is KEY. All the best to you.

Yes. However, she can't use her pills during pregnancy. If she gets pregnant, she has to use only insulin because as someone said, it doesn't cross the placenta or harms the baby.

But too high sugar levels do cross the placenta and get into the baby through the cord. So, the forming pancreas of the baby can be harmed.

Yes! But I don't recommend it. There WILL be complications with the pregnancy (not might be, WILL be), and it's almost a slam dunk that the child will be diabetic. I have a friend that's diabetic. She lost one child at 4 months of gestation. Recently she did have another child, born barely 7 months of gestation. Huge complications, nearly lost the child, fortunately everything's OK now. Unless you just can't function in life without having biological children, I wouldn't recommend having children.

of course a diabetic female can get pregnant but she should be very careful with her diet as she should reduce all the sugar, sweets, pastries, eat lots of vegetables and low fat foods.this will control her blood sugar and she has to go for medical treatment as well as gynecological treatment at the same time.

Yes! One of my friends is diabetic and she is about 5 months pregnant. You just need to watch your insulin and things more carefully. And do just as the doctor orders!!!

Of course she can! The doctor will put her on a diet of certain foods he/she recommends to control blood sugar. She will have to check her blood sugar regularly and will be considered a high risk patient.

yes she can, insulin is a big molecule, can't cross the placenta and harm the baby so you just have to take care of yourself and be monitored by your doctor.
and the baby can't get "infected with diabetes" and i don't think he's at risk of developing diabetes too cause he developes a pancreas of his own.
