My friends was married for 3 mo's, was on the west coast and when he came back, she had him served with restraining orders from HIS HOUSE and her work!! She forged checks against his account [the bank is filing charges against her], left him without money - she has another guy living with her. The house and all the contents were all his before the marriage - she wants it all. She has sold some of his belongings for drugs and was fired from her job for smoking crack in the bathroom. So HOW can judges so easily 'remove' a man from his home, leave him homeless, penniless - as a women, myself, it aggravates me how unjust the system really is. Don't you think that if someone 'charges' you with something that you should be able to defend yourself and make her 'prove' her charges first? Man this so ticks me off I can't let go of this anger.

well if she just got the order it probaly an emergency order. he should recieve his day in court in about a week.however these usually are civil matter which means she may have got the judge to grant her this on emotional abuse sounds like he doesn't need her anyway .However make sure he does not contact her in any way she can prove. in ohio the first time you violate it you can recieve 180 days second time it turns into a felony. so what state do you live in ?e-mail me if you like I actually have a cpo against someone and know a little bit about this stuff. What she has done is really cruel and ultimately makes it harder for people who really needs protection.

This is an example of reverse male chauvinism.

Most people believe men are always the aggressors. Plenty of men are battered or abused by women.

Further, many women use laws to threaten or abuse men, since judges and cops almost always favor women. Just the threat of a restraining order is a very effective way to blackmail a man.

Our society wants the women to be the weaker sex, and then crys the blues when they use that to their advantage. I'm not saying she's right, just that there are enough women out there that legitimately need the protection, and with the absence of a second side to the story, the judge needs to do what they can to protect the woman.

Restraining orders are applied for then a court date is set and the defendant is sent a copy of the court papers, since your "friend" was in California it was probably an emergency order so he will have a chance to defend himself.

First of all you can't just get a order of protection for nothing, that's way they call it an ORDER OF PROTECTION. DA! Do you think these DEAD women would be alive today if they had not gotten this order of protection? The courts (who are made up of most men) make women do this to intimidate them and make them feel more scared than they all ready are.

Check this out... My g/f's ex-husband was trying to force his way into the house one evening. She was scared that he was going to hurt her. He was saying that he was going to take her dog away from her. It WAS her dog too. So when she tried to hold the door closed, he stuck his foot in so she couldn't close the door. So she kicked him in the chin. He went down the road and flagged a police officer down. They came arrested her for assult. It was woman cop so I guess she wanted to show that she was unbiased. While she was in jail waiting a hearing, he went into the house and cleaned her out, dog too.
So universals don't work there. She did get a restraining order and she should have kicked him where it counts if she was going to have to go to jail.
