At the postgame press confrence, Avery Johnson was asked "Why do you think Dirk had an off night, was it their defence or just one of those games?" His response to that was "They play hard. Up in New York, they call the park Ruckers Court, but back in Dallas we call it The Playground." Somebody please tell my why they say the stupidest things.

I've noticed it too.

I suspect they aren't really listening to the person asking the question.

Or they already know what they want to say.

Sometimes I think they're avoiding the question altogether.

yes Avery Johnson is just one guy you want to avoid if you don't want stupid answers. some coaches are actually smart though. like mike d'antoni. he does not say dumb things.

Not so stupid as you think. Really think about what he said. Really think. I will tell you anyway. We came up against a team that out played us. A better team. Do you get it now.

they just want to go home after a tough loss so they make it quick.
