Honestly, people may think that you're gay because you have rainbows. No kidding. Apple Computers apple logo for YEARS was colored up like a rainbow. Probably long before it was considered to be a gay symbol, so when it became a gay symbol, they changed the Apple icon to a blue color. Personally, people shouldn't be so judgmental to think that rainbows always indicates a person as being gay, but what can you do?

The rainbow was God's promise to never destroy all of mankind again. The word gay used to mean happy. A screw used to be something you got at the hardware store.

People are always taking innocent things, words, and symbols and turning them into some sick inside joke...if you buy into it, then that's what it means to you. If not, then you can be gay all day and never ever be attracted to someone of the same sex...and if you like rainbows, and want to buy something with a rainbow on it because it makes you feel gay (happy) and not gay (homosexual) then do it!

God bless you.

The rainbow flag, sometimes called 'the freedom flag', has been used as a symbol of gay and lesbian pride since the 1970s. The different colors symbolize diversity in the gay community, and the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride in gay rights marches. It originated in the United States, but is now used around the world.

Better not watch "The Wizard Of Oz".

Rumour has it there is a song about rainbows in it.

And you'd better steer clear of Leprechauns, too.

They live at the end of the rainbow, and how can they be straight when they dress like that?

And absolutely *never* go outdoors after a rainshower. You'll see rainbows, and that will automatically turn you gay.

(Does your friend have any more words of wisdom for you?)

I agree. Yes, other people have and like rainbows, but it is now associated as the gay symbol, and I don't take any chances. Well, except for my 5 year old daughter!

The rainbow is a "symbol" for the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered) community.

Should you not buy something with a rainbow because of it? No. If you like rainbows and you are straight, then buy it!! It by no means will stigmitize you as GLBT. Lots of people like rainbow decorations!

I'd suggest you tell your friend to grow up.

Your friend is a moron and a homophobe. If you want something with a rainbow on it, but it. No one is going to think you are gay because of it and even if they do, who cares?

By the way for all you homophobic christians who think it is only a symbol for gay pride:
Genesis
9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Generally speaking, that is how rainbows are interpreted nowadays. If it bothers you, you can buy something with a rainbow with a straight line going down the center. It means you are straight, but support gays (I'm looking for one for myself right now)

No, the rainbow is a symbol of a pact made between God and Noah that he would never again send a flood to kill the inhabitants of the earth. Everytime you see a rainbow, your supposed to think of this pact.
