Ok.. first.. I think you are making 11" folds and not folding it across the shorter way.

I don't think you want equal folds.. because if you do then the right side will hit the left side when you fold it in and fold the left side over it.

If you make the left section 3" and the middle section 3" then the right section will be only 2.5" and you will have a 1/2 inch gap.. this may be too big for your purposes.. so you might reduce the left and middle sections by about 1/8"

then... left and middle are 2-7/8" each... and the right side is 2-3/4" or.. easier to compare.. you may want to call it 2-6/8" and 1/8" is a decent gap.. allowing for fold differences.

If you're folding an 11-inch piece of paper into equal thirds, then each section has to be 11/3 or 3 2/3 (on a ruler between 3 5/8 and 3 11/16) inches long.

The other responder gave you instructions that will not give you equal sections - the third section will only be 2.5 inches long using his instructions.

You will have 2 folds, 1st fold 4.25 from Left edge, then the 2nd 4.25 from the 1st - each the full height of the page.
