I guess because people just have inherent curiosity. When someone tells us not to do something, we wonder why we're not supposed to do it. If they say it's dangerous, we wonder why it's dangerous and want to find out for ourselves.
And about eating things not good for our health...well, those things just taste a whole lot better than food that is good for us.

why not it usually has a fun element attached... eating well if we go by the books we'd eat nothing but nuts and fruit.... taste buds are made to be used and everything that's bad usually tastes good
