Get Optical Fibre internet.

It's so fast you could download a blockbuster film in like 5 minutes.

There is NO WAY to speed up a dial-up connection so don't even bother.

Only thing to do is get Broadband!

Broadband is the only way to get high speed internet access. If she can only get dialup, there is no way to make her internet speed up for downloading and surfing.

Dialup is through the phone line so there is no way to change the speed of the connection. It just depends on how many people are using the same phone line during connection since the traffic varies.

She should try and look for some sort of connection thats existing in her area. She can try DSL, Cable, Satellite, and even a faster dialup service. There are actually some companies that have a faster dialup connection than others, but it really depends on where she lives.

Unfortunately, most "Accelerators" come with tons of Ad ware. Don't bother, at the moment, downloading zoom software is going to cause more trouble than it will repair.

She either has to wait for broadband or move....

But what is wrong with DSL? That is broadband, not as fast as cable but certainly faster than dial-up (and cheaper than cable) it works on your regular old fashioned telephone line and if her telephone company doesn't offer DSL that's fine, there are many other companies that will provide her with DSL over her existing phone line.

E-mail me directly if you don't understand..

Use a good spec pc with 1gig ram, a Celeron will work slower than a P4 or Athlon.
Keep your system free of spyware which will be trying to dial out at the same time as you, hogging all the bandwidth.
Defragment your hard drive every so often and tidy up to keep your system running smoothly.

She can make the speed increase by using a web accelerator. These programs work by reducing the resolution of pictures that are embedded on the page. So less data, faster page load.

The problem is they won't really help with chat, or other things like streaming media as the quality it is sent is the quality you want to receive. I worked with these for the last couple of years, they are better than nothing. We finally just got DSL in our area.

You can get accelerated dial-up which speeds up downloading certain things, but true broadband you can't get without a cable connection.

There are several web accelerators available for free but they are not going to give broadband type results. She might consider satellite.

she would have to get broadband service (and buy the modem fot it) for speeds of cable or dsl.

There is no software/ect for her to upgrade dialup (does not exist) wiithout her upgrading her service.
