If you're going to a tanning salon, they'll have a variety of products and can make a recommendation. They may even have samples for you to try.

Ask the people at the place where you tan. Do use some type of lotion though to keep your skin conditioned. Tanning beds can dry out your skin! There are different kinds of lotions - some that have a "tingle" factor as you tan, which means that you feel it working and some don't. Just depends on what you can tolerate. Also, start with a low amount of time, say 5 to 8 minutes and work your way up to the maximum so that you build a base first. When you finish tanning, wait for about 45 minutes before you shower, to allow your body to continue to tan & then use a good lotion on your skin, again to protect it. I'm not sure the secret to the tan is necessarily the lotion per say, but how you build up your time/tolerance to the bulbs in the bed. Bet you'll be a bronze goddess in no time! Just be safe!

It is not so much the lotion, but the time "spent:" on being in there, don't be surprised to only have 5 mins allowed, until you build up a base tan, they will increase the time increments over your next few visits.

None. And be sure to keep your first visits between 5 and 8 minutes. You could also ask the clerk to give you one of the weaker beds.

Please don't lay on a tanning bed. Tans look ridiculous. I never understand someone with beautiful ivory skin ruining it and causing early aging.
