I tried to answer the smoking question but you deleted it before I finished answering...lol I smoked with both my daughters. I was addicted and couldnt stop. My doctor recomended that I cut down because if you stop completely, it can cause stress to your body and that isnt good for the baby either. My girls were 6lbs 9.5 oz and 7lbs 2.5oz. Both were perfect and healthy when they were born and still are. They both had a 9 on their apagar score. Neither have asthma or any breathing problems. I only cut down from a pack a day to half a pack a day. Don't let someone act like you are a bad mother for smoking. It already shows that you are a great mother just for asking about it. Congratulations and good luck

The only advice I can give you is really related to alcohol consumption in the early stages. Doctors normally say that in the early stages of pregnancy if you do something like that it generally will not hurt the baby..it is late in pregnancy and the continuance of the harmful thing that causes problems. Just know that you have quit now and it is still early in the baby development. I doubt you did any harm...but if you are still worried just ask your doctor and I am sure he will reassure you that the baby should be fine.

I know it is hard to quit smoking, but you have to for your baby. My friend didn't quit and she miscarried after 3 months. She swears it had nothing to do with smoking, but I wonder. Just cut back as much as you can then stop. I suggest chewing gum and getting one of those squishy stress balls. That is how I quit after smoking since high school. Being pregnant is fun. Just wait till you feel the baby move for the first time (around 17 weeks) you won't miss smoking at all.

my aunt smoked for 3 months when she was pregnant with my cousin. then she quit smoking. BUT, my cousin will pay for her mother's mistake forever. she was born with two holes in her heart. she had to have open heart surgery when she was 16 to close the two holes that she was born with. DON'T BE SELFISH STOP NOW because the baby is counting on you to take care of it!

your baby will be fine. You quit before the major organs started to form. most women continue to smoke thur there whole pregnacy so i applaude u for quitting. You did the best thing for your baby. Good Luck and CONGRATULATOINS!!!!

you need to stop now and DON'T SMOKE again, you could have caused harm but i doubt it since its so early but this is a question you need to ask your doctor, your baby could be born retarded or addicted, seek doctor now

Seen hundreds of moms in my biz (teaching) - wish they cared as much as you obviously do. Best not to torture yourself and just follow docs advise. In my uninformed opinion, I think your kids lucky to have you.

you need to quit and you already know all the reasons why..............prevention during these 9 months is easier then spending the rest of yours and your childs life dealing with health problems......like asthma and kidney disfunction(due to decreased oxygen to his organs now while they are developing)........and heart problems...again due to low oxygen to this developing organ..........
