A friend of mine died of toxic shock - becuase she didn't go to the hospital, and when she finally did - it was becuase she was in a coma. The doctors and the nurses didn't know she had a tampon inserted becuase she came in from a high fever and shock. She was in a coma shortly after her arrival in the hospital, and died three days later. I'm not saying don't use tampons - becuase I still do, but PLEASE if you think it's even a possibility - just go to the hospital.

TSS- Toxic Shock Syndrome, it can be a fatal illness, it is rare but does happen to people. It can happen to anyone, even men as it is't just through using tampons. To help prevent getting TSS you can use natural tampons rarther than the branded ones. Alot of tampons contain toxicins and bleaches which effect your body in bad ways. Natural ones contain none of these substances. Theres also cup you can use instead of tampons & sanitary Towels. Other than that if you switch between tampons and towels during your period it will reduce the chances of getting it. If you read the instructions inside a packet of tampons it will explain all of this on there. hope this helped.
P,S don't let it put you off using them altogether, remember this is a very rare illness but just keep it in mind

Toxic shock syndrom, But thats only if you forget that it is in there. Usually that doesn't happen. All you got to do is change it every 4-5 hours. Then you should be cool. Tampons arent bad. I prefer that to a pad myself.:)

You can develop toxic shock syndrome. IF you insist on using them the best thing to do is to use the regular absorbency and not the super absorbency. Also, make sure you don't forget you have one in, if left to long in, the risk is higher. Make sure you change it out at least every 5 hours max or less. :)

Toxic shock syndrome. Which is caused by leaving tampons in for too long and even forgetting that you had one in. Thats why pads are much better for you.
