Trust, communication & friendship. There are several things I thought of before I got engaged but I knew it was time to say yes when...
I loved him so much that I could not imagine my life without him. I could be myself and tell him anything and he supported me and understood me. We were the best of friends. We could sit for hours talking and laughing over a glass of wine on the front poarch swing. He made me laugh - a lot. He brought out the best in me and made me want to be a better person. I enjoyed spoiling him and he enjoyed spoiling me. I could not imagine another vacation without him right by my side. I thought, wow... so this is what everyone meant when they kept telling me- "you will just know". It's not always roses and you will have times when you don't agree but I always know he has my back and my best interest at heart. I could not imagine my life w/out him and I can picture us when we are old still laughing & loving on that ol' front poarch swing.

You should get married if you've found "the one" - the person you have a deep bond with, when you both bring out the best in the other. The most important strength of a lasting marriage - there are many: patience, kindness, putting the other person first, love, faith and making sure to have fun and laugh a lot.
