your primary boot device is not set ..

that means . you have the CD drive .. and still the installation is not working

insert the CD to the drive . and give the system a restart ..
if the CD is accessed that means every thing is fine ,.. and continue installing windows ... if not..
while booting .. get in to mother board setup .. by pressing del ot F8... (depends on the system) select the primary boot device as CD and then restart ..

make sure u have a autorun CD ..

Did you install an operating system (OS)? If not, the computer has no idea how to start up. Put the operating system CD into the CD-ROM drive, and it should boot and give you the option of installing.

If you just went out and bought a computer that didn't come with the OS pre-installed, and you've never installed one, or set up a computer, take it into a computer place and let them do it for you. The money they charge will offset hours of frustration.

Go back to your supplier and get them to sort it out. It is a new machine so they will not charge you.

Better to have a proper check than to go messing with something you don't know about.

Do you mean CPU (central processing unit) or PC (personal computer)? Just to avoid confusion.
