Try the St. Giles hotel. It is very nice and quite reasonably priced for a hotel of its class. It's at the junction of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, and just a short walk from the tube.
It is so central, I would highly recommend it.

You can try the Marriott Marble Arch but there is also another Marriott only 5 mins walk away off Edgeware Road. This is only a short walk to Oxford Street. The new Cumberland Hotel is right on Marble Arch and Oxford Street and so is the Thistle. Try http://www.londonvacationguide.com for some excellent deals. Good luck.

Thistle Hyde Park if you can afford it (nb the Thistle that backs onto it - Thistle Lancaster Gate - is nowhere near as nice). A little further away, in Baywater, but cheaper and decent quality is the Caesar. Try www.laterooms.co.uk to book...

The Radisson Mountbatten in seven dials (Covent Garden, very central) is nice - the rooms are small but that's London city centre for you.
