The surface of the Sun, called the photosphere, is at a temperature of about 5800 Kelvin/ 5 526 degree Celsius/ 9 980 Fahrenheit.
Erm guys, the lithosphere is the brittle uppermost shell of the earth, not the sun. *just to clarify out things a bit*

The visible surface of the Sun is called the photosphere. The Sun's atmosphere has two transparent layers. The chromosphere is just above the photosphere. The corona is the outer part of the Sun's atmosphere.

The answer is D. Why? Well, it says in my astronomy book. Here's what it says: The photosphere is the Sun's surface. Energy from inside bubbles up to the surface. The photosphere is covered in huge bubbles called granules. The temperature here is 10,500 degrees F.. The photosphere gives out heat and light. Some of this energy reaches Earth and gives us life.

Yup, the Photosphere.
