Generally, all children can sue for is to be emancipated and receive money that is entitled to them (from their own works, e.g. young actors/actresses do this to get their money). An child that turns 18 may sue his parents for whatever reason, and be entitled to something...based on the suit (e.g. parent wrecks their car and child sues for damages....)

There isn't anything to substantiate this question as fact.
