Walking is a very healthy way to exercise throughout your entire pregnancy.
Listen very carefully to the advice of your OB-GYN. Ask them as many questions as you want. . .they've heard it all.
Be careful of raising your heartbeat too high during pregnancy because it can hurt the baby.
And congratulations on your pregnancy! Enjoy this time. Remember that it's not true you have to "eat for two" as in double everything. Eat small meals throughout the day. Eat healthy for your baby and for you. Continue walking throughout the pregnancy and once the baby is born go on a walk with your new little one. If you can't get out of the house on a particular day try "Walk Away the Pounds" dvds. They are fun and encouraging.
Good luck!

Oh wow! That happened fast, but now that you a pregnant again not the best time to lose weight. Some people say when you have a c section its harder to get that weight off. Having a natural birth the weight comes off so fast, l lost my weight so fast with my second daughter like 40 lbs because I was just all baby and fluids and plus the weight I was trying to lose came off also. But if you maintain a healthy diet and constantly walk and drink lots of water you will be able to do it. Good luck!

Use hand weights to tone up your arms. You can still increase the weight and it's not going to affect the baby. When I had my first child, I'd been going to the gym twice a day because I thought I was gaining weight and I just couldn't seem to lose it! I was doing everything! By the time I found I was pregnant I was almost 5 months along! The doctor let me keep going to the gym... and I ended up gaining only 13 lbs. Ask your doctor.

You shouldnt try to diet when you are pregnant. Its very important that your growing baby get a lot of nutrients the first trimester but you can lift 5 pound weights and walk to try and tone your body up a little. Eat healthy fruits and veggies like watermelons, cantaloupe, grapes, things that are in season instead of empty calories like chips and icecream and you will lose weight and and get full at the same time. If you are hungry try to drink water, you need 8 - 10 glasses a day anyhow often hunger is mistaken for thirst.

Congratulations! Now is a great time to begin a healthy eating plan! Your growing baby needs lots of nutrition, and would benefit greatly from lots of fresh fruits and veggies. If you would use whole grains instead of white, bleached stuff, eliminate fried foods and sugar, and take a good prenatal vitamin, (I recommend SuperMom Vitamins) you will be a long ways towards a healthy baby and a trimmer Mom! My doctor always recommended walking throughout my pregnancy for my health and for easier childbirth. I went through 5 pregancies and lost weight the first several months due to feeling sick, which wasn't pleasant, but at least I lost some fat! Email me if you can't find the SuperMom Vitamins through a Yahoo Search, and I'll give you their website.

NO! you cannot spot reduce aside from surgery. And if you're pregnant and try to LOSE (not loose) weight, you're child will be malnourished. If you gain weight during pregnancy, which you will, just lose it AFTER the birth. Don't cheat your child out of proper nutrition while they're growing in the womb.
