No. There are too many hungry people and not enough money nor people to help those who are hungry.
But I am thrilled that people like Bill Gates, U2, and some politicians are doing their best to bring an end to the crisis.

I believe that world hunger could end if the people that run each country would stop being selfish and give money to those who really need it. If all the money spent on wars could be spent on food, shelter and education - wow, what a difference it would make in this world of ours!!

with an extra 70 million people to feed every year ,
and with less and less farmers all the time ,who´s sons are migrating to the cities.
and with less and less arable soil, because of land loss(due to rising seas, desertification , erosion, and expanding civilization),
the future looks bleak indeed and hunger will increase not decrease.
in China 900 villages are buried by advancing Dust storms, thousands of refugees, who used to be food producing farmers are running for their lives away from millions of hectares that used to produce food ,which is turning in to dessert.
china will buy food world wide ,at whatever cost ,raising food prices and depleting food supplies in greedy countries like Mexico who will sell before they will feed their own.
political instability will be the result.
this is not helping the global food situation

Unfortunately, no. People have settled into their areas and instead of moving to follow the food like our early ancestors do, they choose to have the food brought to them. There just isn't enough of an initiative to fix the problem on either side of the divide.

Not until Jesus comes again. He said we always have the poor with us.
"Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, "Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus said, "Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. The poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me." John 12:3-8
