Perhaps the rest of the world feels that the Middle East wouldn't be a threat if the U.S. weren't instigating them into a fight by invading their countries. I think if we're not looking for specific terrorists, then we should just stay out.
If the people in a country want to set up a democracy, that's great, and if they ask for our help, we may provide it. I think forcing change on another country is going too far, and yes, it is possible to go too far. We don't know when to stop a war, or to let go of other countries, letting them determine their own fate.
I think the fact that many Americans spit out the same thing that our politicians are telling us shows us the power of propoganda.

For those who precieve the US as the biggest threat to world peace I say wake up and smell the coffee. If you aren't asleep you are delusional.
The reason we went to Afghanistan was because terrorists who were safely harbored there had staged several attacks against this country. The WTC bombing, two embassies bombed, and the USS Cole bombing were all linked to Al Qaeda. 9/11 wasn't an accident. And after that happened the US woke up and realized an ocean doesn't protect us like it used to. Another thing we realized is defence sucks as a long term strategy. We've tried to disrupt Al Qaeda (succeeded to an extent) and other terrorists and will continue to do so.
Saddam was a open supporter of terrorists and percieved as being a future threat. The first is a fact. Even if the perception was incorrect, the fact he did openly support terrorists meant we couldn't let him alone.
Terrorists (under the guise of religion) are the biggest threat to world peace, not the US. The fact is the US, Brits, and others wouldn't even bee in Iraq NOW if terrorists weren't setting off bombs all the time. They are not insurgents. Insurgents fight to remove a foreign government from running their country. Iraq has it's own government NOW. Elected by the people of Iraq. So what are those 'insurgents' still setting off bombs for?
No the US is not the threat. The US doesn't want to 'rule' the world. At no time since 1900 have we permenantly taken control of any land we have won by armed conflict. If you percieve the US as a threat you must be a terrorist or terrorist supporter.

very last time I checked, we had the optimal immigration and refugee intake. at the same time as we were engaged in 2 wars and had our own organic disaster disaster, we nevertheless lent logistics and humanitarian help to South East Asia. we are continuously going to be a probability to someone. as long as we are the international's maximum effective us of a, we will be seen as a enormous between ants. each us of a I were to has been inquisitive about US way of existence and that i have had warmth reception in Latin Amercia and Africa. i'm prepared to wager that if all people were to take a survey, wait some days and retake an similar survey, they might answer otherwise. apart from, those polls or surveys can actual manage public opinion at the same time as questions that are beside the point or unjustifiable are lined. they might ask some thing like, "How do you experience about the U. S. outlawing Islam?" for sure, all of us keep in mind that this us of a provides you and protects the rights of all that is voters. besides the indisputable fact that, polls will be manipulated or reinterpreted as a fashion to demonize the U. S.. Oh, and enable's no longer overlook the Berlin Airlift. look back into historic previous of submit WWII, and also you may see that we helped to rebuild an similar international locations that provoked warfare adversarial to the U. S. and that is allies. in truth, the U. S., Germany and Japan are the three maximum effective status economies. no remember what we do, we can continuously be "the great devil" or the "infidel". yet, enable's no longer overlook that if that were the case, no one would to migrate to the U. S. nor request our help.

I am very aware of this. We are in a country that we have no business being in, while the Talibans are chillin' in Afghanistan. Karma is a ***** and the US will get what it's putting out there. I live in NY and sometimes it's scary, Im not quite over 9/11 and honestly I dont think I will ever be okay. It's a very scary and uneasy feeling when you know you live in the most hated county in the world and you just happen to live in the city thats the main target for terrorist...meanwhile you have the government cutting terrist funds by 40% saying that NY doesnt have monuments so it's not as important as say Washington. Bush says this "war on terrorism" is to rid the world of evil...I say Bush is as EVIL as they come. He's concerned with his own personal gain and screw us civilians, we are in a sense expandable.

Yes i agree with that statement especially now that we are being looked at so hard. The thing is that we are almost in a police state (a place were individual right s are suspended) and with the patriot act that makes things even worse. For example when you are talking on a land line you hear a beep or clicking noise every five seconds that a recording on your phone. Then you have the fact that when you by a new computer the take all of your information about all the users on it then they send it to the computer manufactor then they send it to the feds so they know who is on that computer then they can see what you look at every thirty minutes.

I hope the new President keeps our nose out of world affairs...let the UN handle it...they do such a good job. And, we should also cut ALL foreign aid...we wouldn't want to "stick our nose" into other countries business. That includes cutting ALL funding to the UN. Keep our nose out of Bosnia (oh, that was okay...Clinton did that), Somalia, Sudan, Middle East (they'll kill each other off eventually, then we can take their oil), and Indonesia (the next disaster they get). Yea...I say stay out of ALL business of ALL countries...screw 'em...let 'em do it on their own.
In the end...I couldn't give a crap what someone from a third-world country thinks of us...they sure don't have a problem taking my tax money, or accepting our help.
And, why was Bosnia any different than Iraq? Clinton didn't get the approval of the UN when he bombed the living sh!t out of Bosnia...civilians were killed there too. Hmmm...

Good it will keep the rest of the world in check and they should remember the we have maintained the peace through strength. They should remember that the peaceful nations in the world needed our help in WWI & WWII. WE didn't care to get involved in either conflict but we & allies ended the march of madmen. If they think that we are the biggest threat - then it sounds like a personal problem to me.

Lots of us are aware - whether we care or not is another thing. How about this - most citizens of the US think the middle east is the biggest threat to world peace.
