Actually, the media greatly distorts the average life of women in the US and UK. Since the media is 90% liberal in both nations, it tends to promote and defend liberal movements, events, and topics. Such as abortion, homosexuality, feminism, etc...
The media, such as wealthy and middle-class women, act like life is just peachy for women today. This, however, only shows their ignorance, arrogance, and dilusion. The truth is, life can still be hard for women in the US and UK.
Most women in the US have had an abortion by the age of 40. The average woman has been married and divorced by the age of 33. Many woman are left by their husbands and are raising multiple children alone. Many women, because of today's economy and much to the thanks of feminism, are working 8 hours daily, just to come home and take care of their children. All over the world, including the US and UK, multiple women are raped every 30 seconds.
In fact, even in the media women have become sex toys, (again, thanks to feminism). Most music videos, created by both men and WOMEN, portray women as beauty toys and ornaments. Most shows for women often revolve around the liberal women. Hardly does the media show care or interest for the conservative women.
The fact is, life for the average women/mother in the US and UK isn't as "grand" as many feminist would portray. Feminist want others to believe this, because they don't want to realize that much of their movement has only hindered the average woman, and not helped them. Like men, women have trouble admitting they were wrong.

May be you are talking about yourself! Dont ashame your country on net by generalising a statement according to your experience.
I am an Indian and I feel women are generally respected. Anyway it depends entirely on you how you want yourself to be treated. If you do stuff which is not expected of a respected women, you can be abused. I am an Indian living in UK since 2 years and I feel condition of women is better in India. But here also, I command respect at my work place and my colleagues know that "no nonsense when I am around" Come out of the remote village you are living in and see the metro cities of India and what women are accomplishing then you will know. kooye(well) ke maindak(frog) banke rahogi to kucch pata nahi lagega.

In the US, life for women is as good as they make it. For those that get pregnant at 16 and expect the government to take care of them, life is not so good. For those of us who are educated and responsible, life is great.

women are free here. they do almost what they want and when they want. they wear whatever they wish to wear. sometimes one gets the feeling that women have more power here then men. of course, break the law(s) and there are consequences. other than that...women are free. they should be free in all countries. are they not?
