The 13th was my due date for this baby, when I went in to the doctor- she said that she will put me on the induction list. I asked when most likely that will happen and she said this next tuesday. When I left I didnt really think about asking how that works. Im guessing every doctor is different... but does the doctors office call you to arrange that, does the hospital? Im going to call and leave a message with the doctor today, but they arnt open yet. So I just wanted to know what happened with other people. Just curious.

They induced me with my second. The doctor made the appointment with the maturnity ward and I was set to go in at 10 at night. By the time I got to my room and they started the induction it was about 11:30 p.m. I started getting contractions within an hour and then dr broke my water. I was 4 cm and got an epidurial. Much better, I had the baby at 4:44 am. It was worth it, I was only 41 weeks

the 13th was only a couple D A Y S ago. WAIT UNTIL THE BABY IS READY.
DO NOT GET INDUCED unless YOUR BABY IS IN DANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your doctor and MOST doctors like to schedule deliveries (inducements)so that THEY are not called in the middle of the night!!!!! I know that sounds bad..
BECAUSE it IS! !!!!!!!!!!!
They should NOT ruin a delivery that way.
ALSO, don't complain to your doctor about wanting it over with because your words also convince her she can INDUCE. When the baby is ready it will come, it will be the RIGHT time. Your body knows what it is doing.
Inducing means WAY OVERLY INTENSE AND CLOSE TOGETHER P A I N S AND CONTRACTIONS. IT ALSO MEANS MORE PAIN MEDS WHICH MAKE YOU OUT OF IT. PLUS the meds S L OOOOOOOOW down the whole process! You will not enjoy the first few HOURS of your babys life because you will feel disconnected from yourself and others.

Due dates are just an estimate..not an exact date by any means. Most doctors don't rush into inducing unless there is a problem and wont even consider it unless you are 2 weeks passed the due date.
Your doctors office would arrange everything with the hospital.

Call them back and make sure of the date and time, you do not need anymore uncertainity right now. They should call you with a date and time for you to show up at the hospital, your doctor should meet you at the hospital and start the IV that includes the drug used for the inducement. They should than place the belt around you and start to measure the strength of the contractions.

I was scheduled to be induced with my first baby. Basically you go to the hospital at a scheduled time, and they put a suppisitory of sorts on your cervix. When the medicine melts, it causes your cervix to "ripen" and dilate. Then, they might break your water. I think there's another way of doing this, but this is what my doctor was going to do to me. I understand it's not too pleasant... When I got to the hospital, thankfully I was already 3 cm dilated, so they just broke my water (which wasn't painful at all) and the rest is history!

I would think they would induce you at the hospital. I was induced by them inserting a tampon looking like thing in me. Not 5 mins later my water broke (that's a very cool feeling might I add). I dont think they'd induce you and then send you home. So to be on the safe side when you go in to get induced make sure you have all your bags packed.
Congrats on the baby!

There's a kind of approaches used to urge exertions. The 2 that I individually skilled had been Cervidil, that is a tiny capsule that's located for your cervix. They do it by way of most of the time simply sticking their hand up there and hanging it -- it isn't exceptional however it is over rapidly. They positioned you on a track for an hour to be certain the child is doing good and then you definitely simply wait and notice for a whilst. I used to be additionally given Pitocin that is a drug that's administered by way of IV.

I had my NST done and they sent me right in for an induction so it wasn't scheduled. Good luck with the little one though, and maybe you wont have to wait until Tuesday :)
