Yes, it is a chemical reaction. It is a combination of learning and nature. We have a natural predispostion to be attracted to certain types of people, we also learn to like certain aspects of people because of how the things they do benefit us, make us feel better, or more comfortable. Occasionally someone triggers the right thoughts at the right time, in the right amounts and we fall in "love".

There are a lot of things in love. We have to know first what kind of love is; is a brother/sister love? is a love of a mother/father to their children? is a friendship love? or is a love between companions?
According to what love you say, there are many different things. The same things are that is a brain chemical reaction, that make us feel happy, fullfilled of emotions, and certitude. Magic feeling, huh?

It is far more than a chemical reaction. Certainly one can look at it from a purely physical standpoint with tunnel vision but then the entire human experience can be viewed that way if one wishes.

Love is the basis of human existence. It is not only chemical but metaphyiscal.... it, is. It is in all of us.... more powerful than the beat of your heart.... it is the root of God's greatest gift to all of us. What makes it so elusive or painful is our choice to fear the overwhelming elation of letting it simply fill our every cell. When you do, you are consumed beyond yourself and all balance is found, inside and out.
