You need to get an adapter that will allow you to plug into the wall-plug there.

I live in Asia and have a laptop from the U.S. The only special equipment I needed was a plug adapter, which you can get in most groceries or convenience stores in Asia. Laptops are designed to be used anywhere, so you shouldn't need a voltage converter. Wi-Fi also uses standard protocols, which means your wireless card should work without any problems. You can send me email via my profile if you have any other questions.

You will need a power converter for the different power supplies out there. Targus makes a kit for most countries out there. As for the Internet or connectivity, your wireless card or network card should work (TCP-IP is universal) but you will probably pay for it just like here in a hotel. If you have a cell phone wireless card (air card) it might not work in Asia. Check with your carrier.
I hope I covered everything you needed. Good luck.
