First of all it's "reel off" not "real off"
The reason liberals go off subject or resort to name calling is because they cannot win an argument with facts. Also most liberals are seething with hatred and have lost the ability to debate altogether.
As you can see, the responses above are excellent examples of my point.

If you pay close attention Liberals and Conservatives both do not give direct answers. To each group is given a different response because the object is to feed the crowd what they want to hear not what they need to hear. If you notice (this means you need to pay very close attention) both sides will focus on non-issues and avoid the issues that do matter. Each time something threatening to the present administration comes along the country is pushed into a different direction; away from the more important or serious problem.
All administrations do this and the people go along with it, mostly because they don't want to know the truth.
It comes down to the theory that if it does not directly affect us then it is not important.
Example: for years the inner cities of this country have had a serious drug problem. Not until recently has it become a "Problem" with the rest of the country. What has changed is that the drugs are no longer just in the inner cities and the poor communities. Now that it is in the more affluent communities it is a "serious drug problem".
This is just the way things are and so long as the majority buys into this system it will continue. I think that gay marriage, is not all that important when you step back and look at the health care system, social security, education and yes the high deaths amongst the youth of this country. The only way to change the responses received and to stop the rhetoric from both sides is to demand an honest answer about the questions asked. Take the time to ask the questions and to listen to all sides of an answer. Unfortunatly wisdom only comes with age,
It begins with each of us and what we will and will not accept from our elected officials and the media.
A start would be in voting out those that do not give us that which we want instead of just voting for them because it sounds good.

Liberals never answer a direct question because they get into debates where it is all hear say from their side and not facts. So they will change the subject to avoid being corrected by the facts. That just goes to show that they are being ignorant and need to become at least a little bit more knowledgeable about the situation before they try to answer the question.

Because most of the time, you're being insulted by cons anyway. Also, it depends on the quality of the question.
P.S. Just because you disagree with Bush's policies doesn't automatically make you a liberal.

Well, I guess you're right. Liberals never do anything right, huh? You know, Liberals are the ones trying to solve problems like health care, Iraq, FEMA, immigration, etc... Conservatives are the ones trying to solve problems like flag burning, gay marriage, abortion, etc... Which one seems more important to the welfare of the country? Now tell me which party is bringing up "non issues."

Real liberals will be able to answer any of your questions.
It is a common misconception, not all democrats are liberals.
Ask me anything and I will answer it, Ok.

Because they have not mastered the technique of double-talking.
Unlike the Republicans who have mastered the act of double-talking and finish it up with that wide Republican Chesire Cat smile.

I think it's because they have a short attention span and a few crossed wires in the ol' cranium. (They've got to have crossed wires; otherwise they wouldn't be liberals!)
