You must be a stick figure! Fat, thin, short, tall, big, small, white, black, brown. What difference does it make. We are all the same in the eyes of the beholder.
If you have a problem with someone who is heavy then offer to help them get healthier if they are interested. Otherwise, you need to take a look in the mirror and get a life. It is not always a choice to be fat or thin. Everyone is prepositioned to look the way they look. If we had better health-care in this country and affordable food it would be easier to live a healthy life style. Healthy and nutritious food costs an arm and a leg and fast food is cheap. There is surely something wrong with this picture.
So go and pick on someone else or do your part to make things better for all people whether they are FAT or not!

there are many reasons why people become fat and i don't think people should judge them and put a label on them. i use to be skinny and right now am abit on the chubby side and this is because of school work bogging me down and stressing me out and as a result i've don't get enough sleep and am constanly feeling tired so that means i don't feel like or have to energy to go out there and exercise and i love eating food so as a result i've put on weight. I think it's also a lack of self control, like i could reduce the fatty foods i eat and that but it taste sooo good that it's hard to say no. Sometimes i look at obese people and wander how they can let themselves become that way but as i said at the beginning there are many reasons why people become fat. Well yeah most fat people are nice because they don't have many friends and will do anything to have people accept them so they are nice but they can go the other way as well and be really mean and throw their weight around so to speak...

A lot depends on how they were raised. Young children who are raised with not enough to eat, tend to have a slow metabolism. That simply means that their bodies have become extremely efficient at using the calorie, because they are so few and far between. High quality protein rich foods are out of the financial reach of a lot of people in lower income brackets. Most social service programs supply these families with milk and cheese, which are high in fat and a surprising number of people are allergic to. We learn a lot about food in health class at school, but by then the family pattern is already set.
The grower is interested in large production levels so uses commercial fertilizers to increase the crops quantity. (Good & bad, chemicals can have a deleterious effect on the consumer.)
The middle processing group wants the product to sell, so they add coloring to make it look better, put in additives to make it taste better, use plastics for wrapping the product. (You've heard of dioxins?) Have you read the labels on canned goods? They put salt and sugar in everything! They just use the chemical name for it. That didn't use to be done back when we did home canning. All of these preparations are not much in themselves, but together they produce foods that are toxic and have lost a lot of nutrition during processing.
Another qwerky thing. Heavier people beathe more slowly, and there is 2% less oxygen in the air we breathe than there was 50 years ago. Oxygen is required to burn calories. I found it surprising that by doing deep breathing exercises 3 times a day for 10 minutes, I lost five pounds in a week! No change in diet or physical exercise. I was shocked!
Then we get to commercials and sexploitaion, and the desire to fit in with a group. Go here, eat this, you'll be a better person it seems to be saying. Here, drink this high calorie alcholic beverage and you will be sexier!
There are many reasons for our "fat" society. Many poeple felt it was a "put too much in your mouth" thing. But research is finding that societal practices and acceptance of additives, packaging, commercial efforts, pshchology, peer pressure are making it harder to make wise choices if in some cases there is a choice at all!
I find that "heavier" people are good people, always have been. They know from experience the feelings invoked when some one is teased, harassed, denigrated, ignored, and generally treated like garbage. If the general population was treated the way they are, you would see an extremely sharp increase in violence. Other people would not put up with that treatment. They tend to be more efficient workers because in order to be percieved as "equal" to the "prettier" segment of society they are required to do more and do it better. It's all in the perception.
They do care about their looks, more than you know! Most of the heavy folk I know make an amazing effort to drop weight. Do you realize that anorexics and bulimics are in this group? They've tried waaaay hard.
Whew! I got up too early for this!

you never know what is going on in a persons life. yes some people are fat b/c the try to eat their problems away, others however may be under stress and gain weight, some may be sick and gain weight. the point is you never know how someone else's body may react, therefore you cannot judge them because of their weight. and believe it or not most of them them do care about how they look. And i know everyone is commenting "oh she must be a fat girl," no i am a thick, PHAT girl. 5'2, 145 and i proudly carry every single pound. :-)

I think its a pretty shallow statement to comment that they don't really care about their look. Just because a person isn't 115 pounds, doesn't mean they aren't happy. I know folks who wouldn't feel right in their skin, if they weighed less than 200 pounds. I think people would have more self confidence, if people didn't assume they didn't care about themselves.

I always say the earth would be a boring place if we all looked the same....fat people (weight challenged people) are usually the happiest people to be around and bring a lot of joy and inspiration to people.....they come up with the easiest ways to avoid being bored....try and look past the outside and you'll find great people to be around....some people were not born to be slim...if they are getting around without health problems...that is probably the way god planned it.

Fat people are just like any of other peoples who endure ups and downs in life. Sometimes they are ridiculed by people who don't care. But like all of us, they need to build self esteem and to believe that they can make the most out of their body and life itself. Remember this. If you say you care about people that must include all people in all walks of life. I wish you comfort, positive self esteem and joy. Good luck and much wisdom/

I agree that in general Fat people are nicer. I think is has to do with the abuse that they have received over the years. Beleive it or not most people really don't or can't understand they they are hurting people when they call them names and make jokes about them. For most people they have to live it to understand it.
