Will folding your table away and ensuring your seat is in the upright position really help??

Yes mythbusters did a show on this and yes it does make a difference if your plane should crash. They also di d one on using your elctronics in flight and some do interfere with signals.

both myths were confirmed.

Folding your table away will help prevent injury to yourself. After all, it's hard plastic. Putting your seat in the upright position will help prevent injury to the person behind you. It allows the person some "give" in the event they need to move forward in their seat rapidly due to an accident. It's why you shouldn't sit too close to the airbag in your car.

Just so it won't hit you in the face on the way down and so your seat won't be in you seat :)
