Because we have a life outside of the World Cup! XD

Because international competitions are proper football, unlike Premiership which is all about who can buy which foreign player for the most money...zzzz

And besides, football shirts aren't exactly very flattering to the female sex, are they? I bought a kid's size England shirt, but it's too small round the neck.

And btw in response to one of the answers I'm a girl and I do not stand around chatting and getting in the way of the screen, I've got my drink and am watching the match like everyone else!

Girls might wear Football shirts only while World Cup but they look much better without any shirt at all World cup or no World cup.

Maybe because football doesn't mean much to most women, and so only when your national team is playing in the world cup do most get excited. Having said that, my friend Nicola always used to wear a Celtic top, but otherwise I have only seen blokes wearing football tops.

I'm not sure. I'm watching England in the world cup in all their games but since I supported neither team playing in the FA cup (West Ham fans, does frothing at the mouth with rage count as 'forever blowing bubbles'? - only joking, no malevolence, I just couldn't resist it!), on FA cup day I decided to have a walk around a bloke-free town to see if there were any fit birds who'd fancy anyone who appeared to have no interest in football. Hmm, I think I'll do that when we play our next game after we play Sweden.

Its a good point. They all turn up to the pub to watch the England games and then spend half the match chatting and getting in the way of the screen.

I also want to know why some men wear peaked baseball caps indoors, because again, if you are standing behind them every time they turn to talk to each other they block the screen with their peaks.

Isnt it obvious? You dont have to be a massive football fan to join in supporting England in the World Cup, thats the nice thing about it!
We just want to join in and support the team. You could say the same thing about people flying flags on their cars - they dont do that for the normal football season do they!
Or, what about the olympics. Just because people dont watch athletics normally doesnt stop them cheering on Colin Jackson.

Duh!

Because football is our national sport and we get patriotic. I like watching football but I LOVE watching England play, especially in the World Cup! Go England!
