i don't believe it.
i can't even see what so bad if it was true. where is the great secret??? so lets say that Jesus was married and had a child and that his wife was for real Magdalena, what's so wrong with it?
anyhow, there is no proof for all of this.
and me, i believe in God and Jesus for me is real no meter what people will say or try to destroy in my faith.

The DaVinci Code is a real page turner of a book, and for some that should be where it stops, but for others it's not. The Catholic Church has what can be best described as an interesting history when it comes to it's treatment of women and the postition of women in the church. Dan Brown took some interesting premises about the so-called shadowy organizations and sects within the church, coupled it with the "sacred feminine" mystique that has been gaining popularity in the last few years, and threw Jesus into the mix to come up with an engaging plot, and what I thought was an interesting thought experiment...I would say its nothing more, but for some people that's the problem. I will say, clearly so there is no misunderstanding, I am an Evangelical Christian. I believe in the risen power of Jesus Christ, and that he did in fact die for the redemption of my sins and the sins of others. I believe he rose again and is waiting to welcome me into heaven. Having said that, I do not feel that the message of the DaVinci code is real, but again, it is a matter of faith, and that is something that is rarely challenged effectively by any one person to another. Do I think that people who read the book are going to hell--Of course not, like I said folks, it's only a book, and one that I enjoyed reading, but again, as a work of fiction.

While the book is fiction, Dan Brown pulled from various sources, two being the Gnostic Gospels and the Dead Sea Scrolls, both very REAL writings, and both which the Vatican has gone to great lengths to denounce .... both have been verified as documents at least 2000 years old, and both directly contradict MANY of the gospels of the Bible .... the Gnostic Gospels primarily dealing with knowledge as the means to inner spirituality, along with supposedly containing a gospel written by Mary Magdalene herself ... and the Dead Sea Scrolls claim to contain a gospel written by Christ himself, again totally contradictory to many gospels in the Bible, hence the controversy. My suggestion would be on Gnostic stuff, you could try your hand with two authors: Elaine Pagels and Bart Ehrman. Look for titles including Gnostic Gospels and Lost Christianities. On the Dead Sea Scrolls, you might give these a try: Timothy Lim, The Dead Sea Scrolls: A Very Short Introduction or James Vanderkam, The Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls. These are more designed for the layman without any bent toward a particular spiritual plane. If your interested in just an education on what these two things are.

Nope, not at all. There are some interesting theories, but that's all they are.
The stories about Opus Dei, Da Vinci's art work, the Holy Grail, Mary Magdalene, the Priory of Sion - none of them are based on fact, and merely exploit the willingness of people to believe the extraordinary.

DaVinci's Code is a fictional work of art. The author states that the book is a work of fiction, therefore it is not based on real facts. There are many people out there that believe that there is more to the story, but no real facts have been uncovered to prove the theory.

The story itself has been told before, just in a different way. But all in all it is just that, a story. A complete work of fiction based on a myth. If you want to know the exact truth you can always read the Bible.
