I believe they do, depending on how they are cared for.

Animal's (especially cats and dogs) absolutely love their people. Most of these animals are totally dependent on their owners for their well being (food, drink, companionship, etc.) I also believe that owning an indoor pet, helps many humans who suffer from depression or other illnesses, just because of their dedication.

Sometimes. Dogs experience feelings just as we do. Have you never seen a dog with his head drooped down sitting on a front porch, suddenly come to life when that big yellow bus brings "her kids" home? Dogs that are raised with love, love back. Dogs that are raised with fear and pain become mean dogs because they have been conditioned to be that way. There are so many cases of dogs saving the lives of their owners. If they did not love the owner...why would they bother?? Dogs feel just like we do, love, fear, anger, confusion, loyalty and grief.

definite, I do; although, unique animals make negative pets, and distinct them do not do properly in captivity. i'm an avian vet tech, and that i rescue, rehabilitate and rehome African gray parrots. Exotics frequently are not any more domesticated like cats and canines. they are merely like their wild cousins, and some even were taken from the wild. They should be left in the wild. After a time, maximum folk get drained from the wide and intense priced care of those animals, and the burden rests upon the few who take them in at the same time as no human being else needs them.

If you had a pet you wouldn't even have to ask that question. Yes, they do. They are so much like children in certain ways. They look to you to be comforted and loved and most importantly to them, to be FED! When you've been gone all day and come home they get so excited to see you. Some get so overly excited they pee in the floor!

Yes. I work for a no-kill animal shelter. I've seen the animals grieve for their families. They don't know why they've been thrown away. They curl up in a little ball in a corner, refuse to eat, some whimper or howl, and the sadness in their eyes hurts my heart.

If you raise your pet right then yes they can have great affection for you. I had a kitten that would sit on a window sill when I'd go out and watch for me. When he'd see me coming back home he would greet me at the door.
