Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, and Operation would be good. I would definately try cranium games for little kids. Hullabaloo, Family Fun Game, Bumperena are just a few of the games that would be great for a 5 year old. Visit cranium.com and click on products. It should have a 5 and up section.

Is she interested in princesses? My coworker's twins used to play a game called Pretty Pretty Princess where you have to try to win all the jewels.

Headache is another fun one. It's a lot like Trouble, another Pop-O-Matic Game.

Although not a game, Light Bright is fun too.

Chutes and Ladders! Also, Candy Land. My girlfriend's 7 year old sees his mom playing Scrabble and can't wait to be able to play that, so be prepared for these fun kids' games to encourage greater minds!

I just purchased a dora the explorer memory game for my girlfriends little girl. You have cards that match, you shuffle them and turn them upside down and you have to find the matches. It's great because it helps with their short term memory.
