I recently am having the same issue.

To see why the computer is restarting you have to see the windows error log. It is located in ( START > CONTROL PANEL > Administrative Tools > Services ) if you don't see that, you have to check on show classic view on the right area.

Now you have 3 main log files to look at.
Application
Security
System

Check each one at the time of the unexpected restart. It will tell you why it restarted and why it did that. Some may not make sence so you have to research further.

Mine was this:
The driver ati2dvag for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

That means my Graphics card is messed up I need to contact ATI for help.

There are many other ways why a computer would restart, if your settings in the bios are set to restart if went above threshold for fan. so if your computer gets hot (alot from inside) Then the computer will restart inorder to save you from burning. You will need more fans or disable that protection. (you would need advanced help on that)

Another reason would be your power management, take a look at as the guy above mentioned.

If you need any help, let me know.
