I am not exactly blaming this on anyone particularly, I live in Houston, Texas and crime here has gone like drastically up. Kids getting killed like teenagers {gangs, drugs and stuff}. Whos fault is it parents or the authorities? We were a city take took in a lot f evacuees and I have heard of a lot of crines being commited by them but also people that have lived here forever. I have kids and love them and do not want them living to long in this. I bought a new home but planning to move to a smaller town like down south like mcallen, texas.

well, all you can do is "your part", and hope others do as well. you can volunteer where needed which may provoke others to do good when they see what you are doing, but you can only be responsible for yourself and children. I'm not sure about Mcallen if you are wanting to get away from that stuff...it's a border town and can get quit messy there too.

Its both the Governments, Authorities and Parents fault.

The Government should put measures like curfews in place for children/gang aged children to be off the streets by a certain time and the authorities and parents should enforce it.

This of course would stop some of the abductions, rapes, murders by criminals from taking place too.

If everyone pulled their heads out of their neighbours back yards and took more notice of their own problems, family etc the world would be a better place. (not meaning neighbourhood watch where yous look out for one anothers welfare in the street)

The Government doing away with disciplining children is another problem that has led us to where we are today. Years ago I copped floggings with a jug cord, belt/buckle, sandal, wooden spoons, anything my parents could get their hands on. It took me a bit but I learnt right from wrong very quickly because my backside was still stinging from the last thing I did. I have grown up respectable and think of myself as having good morals.

Although I dont believe in as harsh a flogging there should still be a point where a parent can slap their child a couple of times (and give them a good wallop) around the backside and back of legs and the child soon realises if I stuff up Im going to cop it. There is a limit.

It all boils down to too many doo gooders whinging and campaigning for childrens rights and look where its got us today? A LACK OF RESPECT! Children do not respect their elders, parents, authorities, government or the law. Do the doo gooders take responsibility for what they have caused though?? NO! A child doesnt have rights until they are of legal age to vote, smoke and drink, until then they are their parents sole responsibility.

Dont get me wrong if a parent was sexually abusing, or neglecting their child or physically abusing as in starving a child, slapping the child around the head with their hand or an item or throwing them about, I am not for that and think the parent needs boiling in oil. I would be the first one to lay a can of whip *ss on that parent beit male or female.

Unfortunately the disrespectful children grow up to become adults who raise their children the same and it becomes a viscious circle. Thats why the world is the way it is today!

I say It is both the parents and the authorities failure to crackdown on these kids and adults who won't take responsibility for their actions.

Whipping a child when they are doing something wrong while they are young is a good thing but beating a child is bad. If more parents would learn the difference Between spanking and beating. Start Spanking from day one when their child has a temper tantrum or tells their parent no they won't do something Than spank their little legs and make them do whatever it was that they were asked too do.

authorities need to start cracking down on parents that won't take care of their children if a mother or father won't take care of their children or using their children to receive government assistants they should be forced to pay back the money by working or joining the military to earn a wage to support their children.

people would rather steal for what they want than work for what they need.

That would be a wise choice; to move to a smaller community.
What you are describing; is like trying to kill a swarm of bees with only a fly swatter in your hand. We no longer live in a society that fears God. It's true you can't out run every problem in the world; but, you can eliminate alot of the trouble just by the way you choose your suroundings. Good luck, and God bless. I will pray for you.

As a one person, if you don't allready, you can find a church where you are comfortable, get connected with other people who are there to learn what the Bible means by listening to teachers, elders, counsilors and the preacher, then know that God is calling us to bring unsaved people to Him so that they can have eternity in heaven also. Being a christian is not an easy thing, we learn as we grow, He tells us through scripture (which in my case has to be interpreted) that we can be like Christ and the Bible is His instructions for this, by sharing our knowledge in a compassionate and loving manner and by being an example of true christianity we can fulfill God plan for us and help each other sin less and be accountable .

Redefine sin!
Most sins are naturally necessary and the existing governors have defined those sins in order for the people to feel sinners and obey to whatever else the governors are requesting, giving the people to "opportunity" to enter paradise, although their "sins". SO, pay your taxes and give money to the church and the government and your sins will be lifted! Well, all religions have that!
Hence, what sins are we talking about?
Is it a sin for a mother or father to take what was stolen from them, in order to feed, educate, assist their children?
Is it a sin to do what nature has made us like? We were born nude and it is a sin to walk around naked!
Our will for sex has been named sin, then why nature and gods made us with these instincts?
An so on!
Thus: redefine sin!

Start by putting prayer back in schools. Make the cost of living so that one parent (mom or dad) can stay home and raise the children and not let the baby sitter raise them...this is a start
