I live in a katrina affected area.Granted the market is starting to come down but not fast enough. We had no choice but to live with family since rent had skyrockted. If we chose another city we have to move 2 hours away from where we are now.

Thank you for your answers and I think I will take everyone's advice and stay.

With the job market being the way it is. He would be a fool to quit a good paying job with afordable health insurance. If he did there is no garantee that he would get a job as good as the one he has. In my opinion I would wait it out.

how long would a commute be if you moved to the next town over? if it won't be long, then i would say keep the job. i would try to make it work as much as possible. me personally, i wouldn't quit a good paying job with affordable health care just to move somewhere else. maybe there is a house in the town you are now that is cheaper than what you have. just a suggestion. good luck in your decisions.

if its a good payin job with benefits why would you want to even consider movin? The market is sooo unpredictable and if your making it NOW even if barely.....its better than the unknown or not making it at all.

I would move not move to that area then. I would not have him quit his job if it really pays that good of money. Why would he have to quit his job to move anyway?
