Those are called parking lots or
you can just put natural plants in your yard but it will not look manicured.

I have seen some yards where people simply concrete the entire yard and paint the concrete, or stain the concrete a beautiful rich green color. From a distance your yard will be the best lookin in the neighborhood and you NEVER have to worry about mowing, watering, fertilizing, bug infestation, ground hogs digging up the yard, etc. For no maintinence it is definatly the way to go... might not be as fun for the kids to play on, doing cart wheels or wrestling and such, but while the neighbors yard goes dormant in the winter and is all brown, yours will always look good. Furthermore you can park on it and it will not die like the neighbors does when they park on theirs...

No such thing if using a grass lawn. There are some ground covers that need very little maintenance though.

No such thing. But if you live in an area where it will grow, buffalo grass is low maintenance.

plastic turf...all lawns require some maintenance

Astro turf . . . but even that you have to roll up and put away in bad weather.

go to www.synlawn.com, I think it is a great idea! saves water and you dont have to mow it!
