Plants usually don't need to be watered daily. But sometimes, they may, if they are planted in a pot too small for them, soil that drains too quickly, or if they have recently been planted and the root system is not well developed.

Usually though, it is easier to over-water rather than underwater the plant. Plant roots need air as much as they need water, and over-watering will cause the roots to die.

Most plants become limp when they do not have enough water. This is called wilting. Bit sometimes the wilting is not caused because the soil is too dry, but because the plant cannot gather as much water through its roots as it loses through evaporation from its leaves.

Every plant has it's own requirements, depending on where it grows naturally. Learning about the different types of plants and how they are suited to different environments is very interesting, and adds to the enjoyment of gardening.

If you are in the United States, I suggest you contact a Local County Extension Office. You might also ask the place you got the plant from. They were growing it successfully, and should be able to help you. If neither of those work, ask one of your neighbors who is a gardener. Most gardeners will be flattered, and will love to talk to you about plants.

You can pop the plants out of the containers and place thick yarn in the bottom hole. Let the yarn be long enough to come down into a bowl or glass of water. The plant will drink this water just like a straw. The plant will get the water it needs everyday. Not to much not to less. This works great and you never have to worry about over or under watering. About once a week or so just check your bowl or glass for water and fill those up. This works on all plants and they will look green & healthy.

I'd never have a plant if they needed daily watering. I'd need to know if you mean indoor plant, outdoor container plants or in the the garden, and, if outside, what your climate is. I am in the sometimes humid, sometimes bone dry Northeast and I only water daily when I've just planted something and it's getting started. But it also depends on the type of plant. For outside, I choose perennials that have deep roots and are "heat-resistant" because the gardener is me!

Unless they are growing in sand in the desert on the equator, no. And if they are, they shouldn't be. The general rule is that if you haven't received an inch of rain in the week, then you should water. By watering every day, the roots have no incentive to grow down looking for moisture, and that makes them more dependent on more frequent waterings. A couple of days then in the hot sun without water and they could be on the way out.

Suck it up and buy a water moisture meter for $10. It is really useful. You stick the probe in the ground/pot and get a reading. You'd be surprised at how a plant can be really dry at the surface and yet almost waterlogged just a couple of inches down.

Depends on what you have and where they are. If its warm outside and they're floweing plants then yes. If they're indoor green plants then no. You can check if those need water by picking up the pot. If it's light and easy to pick up then it needs some water.
