Have you ever watched 3 hours MTV, VH1 etc...?

They're so manipulating the ideas of young people:

Leading to racism, violence, materialism, homophobia, developing larger social groups, ageism, ignoring today's great musicians and putting pop, rock, and rap ****, and all this stuff in a show...

And in fact, this is simply contradictory, because in other shows, they're leading to tolerance, inner values, equality, good music, and support for everyone... That's confusing!

For example MTV Made VS. MTV Dismissed
The first one: Great support for someone with huge goals.
The second one: Simply sexist.

Is there another well educated and serious person who thinks that this has no sense???

Yes, i know. it was great in the 80's.
But i'm talking about the present MTV!
The same thing with all the other Viacom Channels(VH1, Nickelodeon, etc...).

MTV was made for entertainment. It is up to the teen to make his/her choice in seeing this as something he wants to do or wants to let himself get brainwashed. Most of the shows in MTV do give an advantage to teens, they encourage teens to be determined and more ready for their future. They show them a life that people really go through and some shows teach lessons too. The racisms and violence, etc are realities that teens have to realize and to learn. It really depends on the teen.
I'm not brainwashed by MTV..and neither are any of my friends..

I completely agree. I realized when I was younger that MTV was one of the most disgusting channels I'd ever seen. The things they put out are terrible. Especially the music. I really could go on that subject for hours. They don't play artists that are artists, MTV (and VH1) play what is "popular". I've come to realize that "popular" isn't always cool. Anyway, I completely agree with you.

YES YES YES - I agree.

My 13 year old sister is completely addicted to MTV, and I have found that her behaviour has been deteriorating since she started to watch it.

She is "copying" rude words and actions from some of the music videos, and is also skipping school, and not doing homework in order to spend hours watching garbage.

She will sit and watch the same musice video repeated possibly 3 times in the space of a couple of hours too - does this not bore her??? I don't see the attraction!!!

I'm 15 and I watch MTV all the time but I must say I do agree with you. MTV was a good music television but today they have more these idiotic shows than real music.
Yeah, I agree with you.

I believe it does. It seems like so many teens are addicted to that channel, that they have anything better to do with their time. Parents should monitor the amount of time their kids spend watching MTV. If they find their child is watching too much, make them turn the tv off and go find something else to do.

i agree with you. i think music videos today, not all but most, are degrading. why? many has explicit scenes of promiscuity. teens nowadays are going to believe that this is a normal thing and there's nothing wrong in showing a little (or a lot) of skin. i just think today's generation is going down the drain. the behaviour and attitude portrayed on mtv is improper.

YES.

In the 80's we all wanted to be rock singers with long hair, do drugs and have sex with all the women (as if that was going to happen) as they crowded around us.
In the 90's we learned how to kill each other just cause some guy named Ice-T and Ice Cube thought cop killing and shooting each other was a good thing,

Its a wonder why we have such a ****** up world.

television brainwashes those who're addicted to it. How do you imagine that Labour were again to potential as no human being of their precise minds would vote for Brown, Blair and ZaNuLabour.
