They are very stiff, and don't feel very comfortable. Walking needs shoes that are comfortable...I need to soften them so they will be 'old and comfortable'

Well, i have broken in many a combat boots and the best way is to wear them around the house for a bit...if they are leather you can go to any sports store and buy a Leather conditioner or softener, as used with baseball gloves...

Walk in them. LOL JK, The only way I know of is to wear them daily for a few hours each day. Increase the time you wear them as often as you can. They will break in, but it may take some time. Until then I'd walk in the most comfortable shoe/boot that I have.

Soak them in salt water for 9 days. Then lace them very tightly and go for a 4 mile run. They may not be comfortable but you won't care. How could you ask such a dumb question. That is why you get such dumb answers. If "these boots are made for walkin" then walk. And please walk right out of here.

I have never had a pair of shoes that were comfortable like my old pairs. You just have to work them in.

Throw them in the washing machine, or put them in a plastic bag and run them over with your car a few times ( slowly, not like a race-car driver! :))
