example: what if I climb on top of a building in a hurricane and stand on the edge (knowing I will get blown off eventually, but the wind actually caused it)

is that suicide?

Ok, Now I ask you this....
example 2: what if I fly myself to Afghanistan wearing a BIG American flag and armed with a rifle looking for Bin Laden. What's that?

it's a slippery slope, think about it. Example # 2, what are our troops doing? what if I had no rifle.

It's the same as standing in the middle of the road waiting for a truck to hit you. since you knowingly expect it and know the outcome, yes indeed it is suicide.

The hurricane is the vehicle;

the edge of the building is the busy highway;

and climbing to the top of the building is walking to the middle of the highway.

Method's different, objective the same.

Verdict: Death by Suicide.

Re: #2 - it's not the method that counts but the fact that you know what might happen to you if you intentionally walk into a killing field with the objective of being shot.

"Suicidal missions" like kamikaze pilots dive-bombing to ensure hitting the target are not suicides because their first intention is fighting the enemy, not suicide.

"Fool's courage" in a war may be 'suicidal in mission' but the objective is still defending a position which requires fighting to the death because of overwhelming odds.

It cannot be suicide 'cause it might not be sucidal...
Maybe ur just trying to mesure the Hurricain's pressure ( seen TWISTER)
Maybe it won't kill you, maybe you'll just lose a limb, and curse yourself for the rest of you life for...
'climb on top of a building in a hurricane and stand on the edge (knowing I will get blown off eventually, but the wind actually caused it)'

Yes, because if you put yourself in that situation with the mindset that you want to die, then it's suicide. Other wise you'd just climb to the top of building during a hurricane and stand on the edge for the heck of it? No, maybe for the adrenaline rush or something, however if it is dangerous and stupid and you know you could die, simply don't do it, or simply do and kill yourself and go to he-- for eternity. I don't see a choice here, but that's just me.

Oh, yeah, it is.
Just like if a gunman pulls a gun on the cop, he knows that the end result will be his demise. If you set out to commit an action that you know will be the end of your life, then it is suicide, or at the least, attempted suicide, if it does not happen.
Are you considering this?
Ok, I read the details, and it is still suicide. It is a form of suicide where you are trying to set up your death as a notable one, in fact, I would call it "going out in a blaze of glory.", You would stand out in a crowd of suicide deaths for your 15 minutes of fame, then be forgotten.
Please do not hear this as me belittling you, I am only stating how I feel about the action as you described.

Still suicide. I guess you could call it "passive suicide" maybe? Similar to suicide by cop, where a person points a gun at a cop, knowing the cop will shoot to kill. However, in your scenario, at least you're not forcing another person to kill you.

P.S. I hope this is all theoretical. Just in case...

if u climb up there and u want the wind to do the rest yeah it's suicide, if u climb up there knowing that wind can do it but i don't want to die then why u want to climb up there (then it would be stupidity - like if u can't sweem but u would jump to ocean)
