Actually it's very much a cultural thing eg Westeners often smell of rancid meat and milk to people living in Asean region (China, Japan). You smell of what you eat - it's just you get used to the smell of those eating the same diet as you and don't notice it.

It's their diet. Some of the spices used in cooking are very aeromatic. Years ago, I used to live next door to a nice couple from Calcutta, India and at times the smell coming from their apartment was overwhelming. Just like when you eat something with a lot of garlic, your breath could kill a buzzard at 50 feet and offends everybody else.

God, you do get some crap answers don't you.
The simple answer is that they eat different foods and use different soaps so they do smell different. You do to them for the same reason.
Our British special forces, while engaged in jungle warfare have always taken to eating the same foods as the people they are looking for. It took a while but the Americans caught on to the same thing. The Vietcong were able to smell the enemy for miles because they were eating different foods and used deo, toothpaste and American cigs.
Despite the comments from a few losers they have the same number of people who don't wash, use deo etc as we have.
There's good and bad in all.

In public transport many people sweat. The more the food a person eats differs from your own diet, the more you notice the smell. Japanese people will think you smell!

I've heard white people can smell of "off milk" to others. That's hardly nice, is it?
Everyone smells of something, and personally I think Lynx deoderant is disgusting.
I'm white and eat quite a lot of spicy foods, plus the usual British food...wonder what I smell like! XD

If yours is an innocent question, you are trying to generalize. Maybe one or two Indians or Somalis (I think people of Somalia are called thus) smelt bad when sitting next to them on a bus or train. But it doesn't mean all of them have body odours. Body odour is not ethnic characteristic.
Haven't you come across anybody of your own nationality / race with bad body odour?
Maybe you did, but then did not think in racial or national terms, did you?
Grow up.

My nephew married an Asian lady and it's just from the Kim Chee she eats. I hate the smell so she makes us all take a bite, then no more smell. Kinda like how it is when we eat garlic.

they do, but because they eat different spices and things and the smell lingers on their clothing and hair, it has nothing to do with a race by the way, when YOU go out and u smell of what uve eaten then you smell to, so does everyone,
