Two days ago for something silly.

My fuse either simmers or blows in a spectacular fashion depending on............the weather , food I ate, TV program on, amount of money to be paid on credit card, kind of clothes I wear, time of the day, month in the year, ......all genuine excuses of course !

I think I have a pretty long fuse. Ok, no I don't. I have a VERY short fuse. But mine seems to have a short. I tend to let things build up until I pop. It doesn't take much to get on my nerves, though.

I nearly blew a few days ago. I went to a homeowners meeting where the exact same question was asked, in almost the same words, atleast 10 times. And the best part? Sometimes the same person would ask the question(as in they'd ask it more than once). Grrr....then I got home to find that my dog had chewed the squeeze handle off the water spray bottle because she didn't like being sprayed when she was being bad. I can handle her chewing it, she's just a puppy. But my roommate had just left all the little pieces of plastic and broken bottle (leaking water on my hardwood floor, no less) ALL over the floor. When I asked him why he didn't pick it up when he got home. His answer? "It's not MY dog." Ooooh...I coulda....grrrr.....

Right now I don't think I could lose it, so infinitely long. Some days, though, it's practically non-existent. It has alot to do with how much I slept, whether or not I'm hungry, and if I have to pee and I can't because I'm stuck talking to some idiot. That is guaranteed to make me blow up on someone who probably doesn't deserve it. I hate having to postpone peeing.
But a couple days ago all I had to do was read this stupid question about this white guy whining that life wasn't fair because he knows he deserved a job he didn't get. That fuse was gone like a cheerleader's virginity on prom night.
In day to day life I hardly ever lose my temper because as soon as someone annoying starts talking to me I take my mind away to some happy place. In Answers it's frustrating because you open up a question, and there it is, the most annoying thing someone could possibly say, before I've had a chance to steel myself against it.

I usually have a really long fuse and seldom explode. But when I am under a lot of stress, it can be short.

In the same regard, when people attack my family and friends or make derogatory generalizations about groups of people I lose my patience and I explode pretty quickly.

Maybe it's not really the length of the fuse but the buttons that get pushed which cause "explosions" of emotion.

I have a really small fuse of only 6.5 inches. It hasn't blown for 4 years. It will blow every day come August 22nd though.

it changes from moment to moment.. sometimes a pin drop can get me rattled.. sometimes an airplane can drop a million of them from the sky on my head and I will just shrug it off like it was nothing..
last one was a couple days ago.. neighbors dog was barking non-stop for a couple hours.. was driving me insane.. went to the pet store and bought the biggest rawhide bone I could find.. opened a can of tuna fish and dumped the juice on it.. dogs love that stuff.. (and it is good for them)
I tossed the bone over the fence and didn't hear a peep for the rest of the day.. maybe his owners will take the hint as well?
I dont see the harm in it? :)

Normally, it's quite long, but if I'm really stressed it takes nothing to make me go crazy.
