Absolutely real! The couple of boobs who made accusations saying it was fake are complete idiots! Neither of the two who started this rumor had any technical background to support their claims! Find some old movie clips and see for yourself. The actions of the astronauts could not possibly be mimicked here on Earth! So now we have a paradox, in order to fake the moon landing you would have to go to the nearest object to us in space which would be......you guessed it! The moon! Give Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin cudos for being the brave men they were and leave it rest! I remember watching it in awe live in my classroom at the ripe old age of 16! The onboard computers they used were no where near as powerful as your basic dell 300 dollar desktop.....they didnt have any more than 32 kilobits of ram and were totally programmed in binary. These men came dangerously close to not making it on their lunar landing.
P.S. Nikis answer below explains why romania is still a third world, uneducated country. Her statement "why not the flag freeze?" is simply because there was no moisture present.

The landings were real and the FOX TV program saying it was fake is not accurate.

It is reasonable for people to ask why we don't go there anymore if we could back in 1969. The simple answer is that even in 1969 a lot of people considered it a waste of government money, so funding was cut as soon as the goal of beating the Soviets to the Moon was accomplished. Today most people still think it is a waste of money just to let a few astronauts walk on the Moon, and the Soviets are no more, so the funding has never been restored. That is a bitter pill for the thousands of people who poured their lives into making it a reality, because there were big plans for more missions and a base and everything.

Now, about the various reasons given by FOX TV, they are all just bad science by people who do not know any better. The bad astronomy site debunks most of these. My favorite reason for the impossibility of the landings being faked was the the Soviets never accused us of faking them. It was the cold war and we were racing to see who could get to the Moon first. It was a giant political win for the US and a loss for the Soviets. The Soviets had the capability to track the flights with their own equipment, they would have jumped at the chance to show it was fake if it had not been real.

Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

There are many debates about that issue, but couple of facts are out of question:

1. the approach to the moon was very genuinely shot by a tv camera attached to the ship equipment. The environment seen on the tv screen is exactly the same from the moon ground as it was from the ship, during the approach.

2. the dust that astronaut's feet caused to rise from the ground, falls down faster than on the Earth, because of no air resistance (check out the footage of moon jumping).

3. It would not be possible to fake the absence of the flag waving, if there was some air around the very spot of flag position.

Those are main reasons tnat made me believe that the moon landing in 1969 was real (unless they evacuated all the air from the chamber where the footage was taken, but they couldn't avoid the gravity effects in that case). Absence of gravity might have been faked in a very large aircraft, that didn't exist at that time.

So, I think it was real.

If they would have even try they would return burned by radiations from the magnetic century that protects us, there the radion level is extreme and you cannot exit with people on board and whithout having a heavy plumb shielding. Their craft was made only from aluminium and stanium, russians and japaneese returned burned of radiation, so check this out! it' a total fake, they say on discovery about the telescope of 10M that can see if a man has 1 or 2 fingers on the moon, but they never saw the us flag on the moon (why was it not freezed on the moon, if there is no wind anyway?) That asks questions. And why from 70 thy go again in 20? it' kind of spookie here.
I am not a insulting guy, but the start of wisdom is not believing others blindly but asking fair questions. So I ask: why 50 years if it is so simple? I mean they've done it with lamps and now they have 200million tranzistor processors and they can't. I mean my radeon9550 have 130million transistors and what they had seems like medieval age. Now we have materials like carbon or glass fibre that resists to 3500+ temperatures and they have no money for the moon or mars? And why costs so much a rocket? My quess is because all who work at nasa have each 10 big houses while I can only afford to buy 500mp land in Romania

The USA probably did reach the moon, although I'm not sure that it happened in 1969. There are just so much unexplained errors (flags waveing in the wind, wierd reflection angles, double shadows etc.) that it all seems kinda' fake.

there has been much debate on this subject, like if you can really leave footprints that clear on the moon or the different light sources, or even how if you look at pictures from the "footage" that the ground is totally different in the back than the frontal part. But personally, I think we did get up there, i'm just not sure if the footage is real or not.

We will know soon enough. The Japanese are planing to send a probe to the moon soon, to among other things, photograph and map the surface. If our flag is found where it is suppose to be, then we were there. That is if we can trust the results.
