rags. That is the truth and that is where the term on the rag came from.
Women had to wad up some old rags and use that then wash out the blood and reuse them.
Sounds lovely doesn't it.
Yes life was wonderful 100 year ago....

they used material from old cotton garments that could no longer
serve thier original pupose. they would rip the old cothes into strips and put layer upon layer upon layer then sew them together. thats why we have the term "rag" lovely ehh?

they had some strange looking padded knickers that they used to wash how we'd wash ours now not very hygenic i know but times were hard back then

Recently before that they had such they just would buddle up cloth into there undergarments.

probably some old hankies or a piece of cloth where they can wash and dry it to be use again if needed..........
