There are many questions that cannot be answered, yours are among them. The end of the world is impossible to predict, and what will end it cannot be known. I don't see anything happening too soon, so I woudn't worry about it if I were you. The Sun won't explode, yet there will come a time -- so far into the future that neither you or I will have to worry about it -- that it will burn out. God is merciful. As long as there are a few of us who believe in God, He won't wipe us out. I believe that God just let us on our own, to see how we handle his gift of the universe.

The Bible tells us that God is preserving the earth for fire. Though I'm not sure if the sun would explode. Then the end of the world will definitely come--it is recorded in the Bible. Even Biblical codes for that matter, if you're an advocate. But before the destruction (which is the reign of the third AntiChrist and the evils resulting therefrom--please read the book of Revelations in the Bible), Jesus would come back the second time to fetch His children--His followers. Those people who have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.

The destruction of the world must come to pass, so that the new world could take over. And this new world is the kingdom of the Lord, the New Jerusalem, which is Jesus' kingdom and where all His saints get to be with Him for all eternity.

Earth's destruction doesn't have anything to do with some people not listening to Him. Fact is, it has everything to do with those people whom God called His children. The promise of eternal life--where there will no longer be pains and crying.

When will it take place? Jesus mentioned signs of His second coming--wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, the rise of false prophets, even those claiming to be Jesus, etc (please read Matthew 24). No one knows the hour, not even Jesus, only God the Father.

The reason it hasn't happened yet is because God is being patient with His children--those who are lost in their ways and are going toward the path of destruction. He is waiting for them to come to Him. So that many will be saved when the destruction of the world comes.

I hope, and pray, that you would come to Jesus and receive Him as your Savior before that appointed time.

No one exectly knows how close...but i can tell you this...live your life to the fullest so that you won't regret anything 2morow...scientifically, they say that when the sun becomes to big, like a red giant star (as you know the sun is a star) it will burst and all of the planets around it will automatically be destroyed. but that won't be for another 1 billion years
