We were renting a flat together but now we are staying at his mum's house till we find somewhere new because the flat we were in was sold by its owner.....anyway my problem is I just can't decide if I want the commitment of renting another flat with him or whether I should go it alone. I really want to get my independance back but will miss him if he isn't around and he doesn't want me to go either! Any advice guys?? Thanx x

Hi Kat,

Sounds like you already answered your own question hun. If you both care about each other, there is nothing wrong with dating still and living in your own places. If you really want your independence back then you need to take it. Living with him because he wants you to stay isnt the answer. Stand strong, and be kind. THere is always common ground. NEVER compromise or you'll be blaming each other in the long run. Best of luck . Take care

Well, I say go it alone. You already made your mind up that you don't love him. If you only moved because the owner sold the flat and then you mentioned you want your Independence back. It's not like he did something wrong (not pay the rent, abusive to you) to make the move that you guys did. It was out of your hands when it was sold. So it is clear you don't want to be with him anymore. Good Luck!!!!

maybe better to rent a flat of your own to be independent and make your bf visit you there often. you both have to experience to be away from each other for sometime because if you decided to get marry, you can't leave alone anymore so you have to do it for now but still can make your bf be with you as often as you like. just explain things to your bf so you won't end on misunderstandings.

Talk to him. Trying still being "together" but wait until you're married before you move in together. What part of independance do you want that you don't have?

I'm with Roo on this one. You need to analyze what independence you think you need and why you aren't getting that independence when you are living with him. You also need to analyze why you don't want to commit.
