Wireless is just as fast for internet browsing, since most high-speed connections are well under the wireless bandwidth.
However, to transfer files from PC to PC or run streaming video, wired is much faster and definitely preferred.

Wired is faster, with speeds up to 100 mbs possible. While wireless is limited to 54 mbs at the best.

if you mean in a lan ..! they'r too diffrenet.
the lan wireless networks usually used only for internet sharing .
cause in wireless network the band wide is shared. it means that if you have a WIFI g with 54mbps and you have 10 users at the same time . any user can only use about 5.4mbps at max !!!
but in wired lan connections you can count on 70 to 80 % of your connection speed.

wired networks are usually faster but if you have crap wires it could be slower also u are restricted with space if you have a wired on also you will have loads of wires everywhere so it is 6 of one and half a dozen of an other

Wireless technology is always faster than wired ones. up to 50MbPs can be possibe on WiFi
