No. An intellectual is someone who thinks about other things besides sex. Usually a well rounded person. Traveled, well read, good conversationalist. Hmmmm. More than likely not anyone under 30 and possibly 40.

I must be an intellectual then (I wouldn't doubt it).
There are three things I enjoy more than sex. Off hand I can only remember two (hey, I just woke up). A good bike ride and writing.
Sometimes I worry that I am destined to be A-sexual. Sex impairs my writing and when given the choice I usually choose writing over sex, without regrets. The effects of sex physiologically last for a week - that is damn too long to go without writing something worthwhile.
As for the bike. Endorphines give off much the same feelings as sex, without impairing my writing abilities.
OH! I remember the third thing - and I believe it would classify me as an intellectual. The act of learning something new and understanding it - I find that comparable to sex.
Call me crazy if you must, but maybe you're just jealous that my brain isn't being bogged down by all the drama and chaos that sex and or a relationship can cause.

I have pondered the same thought.
Although I have not been lucky enough to find one, I am sure there are those in college that are virgins.. their persuit for education and knowledge supercedes the distraction of sex and relationships.
The connection of minds is far more important to me than impulsive physical expressions of desire.
I know I am an exception to the immoral expectations of society. So be it.
I had my share of intimate flings before I figured this out. A virgin I am certainly not. :)

I'll be pertinent but politically incorrect, and retort with a different question:

"Is a dimwit someone who can't find _ANY_thing worthier of pursuit in life than (as a matter of fact) sex ?"
