Have a stiff drink when you get on board and hopefully it will knock you out.
You can also try rationalising with yourself. The chances of ANYTHING going wrong, on your plane, on that day are slim to none.
The best idea is probably just to keep your mind occupied so that you don't have a chance to think about the fact that you are on a plane...a good book, film etc...play music really loud to drown out the engine noise - especially during take off.
If all else fails, take a comfort blanket and whimper in the corner for 4 hours...or you can always catch a boat (?!)

Ommmmmm, you've left it a bit late for the hynotherapy or a prescription of valium from your doc.....
You could try saying Ommmmmmm (very calming)
Be rational. Think of the statistics. You are more likely to be run over by a bus or die of a heart attack than be killed in an air crash.
Try to think positively - there is a wonderful view. The air stewards (or stewardesses depending on your preference) are often gorgeous.
If all else fails, just drink a few Jack Daniels or whatever your favourite tipple is, and concentrate on thinking how much better you will feel when the flight is over!!!
Good lucK!!!

The first time I flew I made me self physically sick, I was sooo worked up.I sat in my seat and really wanted to get back off the plane. But as soon as it was up in the air,I was fine,it's just like being on a coach or train.Just either watch the movies or go to sleep, that's what I always do!

Learn to like it, or not get on the plane. If your scared get some breathing excercises, valium, or alcohol.
Also look at the cabin crew; I love flying and to enjoy it more I like to see the cabin crew relaxed. The day I see a stewardess panicking is when I crack out the rosary beads Super Quick!

A friend of mine hates flying but has a method of dealing with it.... First of all he has 2 glasses of beer, enough he feels to relax him wihtout making him drunk, secondly he has the whole flight planned out (he has a PSP with films and games) so that at no time is he just sta there thinking about the flight..... It seems to work for him, good luck with it though

I'd say, 'You won't get me on no plane you damn fool!' and then I'd eat a nice burger that my good and trusted friend gave me, which would be drugged and knock me unconcious for the duration.
I'd wake up at the other end confused and angry and threaten to beat my friend to 'a pulp'. Then I'd tell the kids to stay in school and don't do drugs.
