have you encrypted your wireless network? If so you would need to enter the WEP key.

Also, go to Start > Run and type in cmd

The command prompt will come up, it's a small window that has a black background.

Type in ipconfig / release

when it is done releasing the IP address, type in ipconfig / renew

Check your tcp/ip setup

from dos type IPCONFIG /ALL

to see your ip settings / default router ip address.
normally wireless routers will 'Assign' the ip detials to your laptop / device. so this should be set under networks to automatically get one.

Once this stage is done try pinging the routers IP
then a web address to prove your DNS.

(the routers default address will be supplied defaults are normally
192.168.1.1 )

have you checked you router settings?? type in your address bar 198.162.1.1 then where is says password type admin and enter. Check you settings there. if that does not work then try unplugging your modem and router for a few minutes then plug them back in and restart your laptop. Good luck
