I want to be a really good friend to the person I love. I'm scared of losing her as my best friend. I always try to be there for her.

What you really need to do is back off. You are proberly smothering her to the point where she is getting stressed and takes it out on you. Give her space, listen to what she has to say.

If she dont want to go somewhere with you, dont go, let her go by herself. Let her have time with her other friends otherwise you will lose her.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Give each other space, then when you are together, it will be more special and plesurable.

gudluck.

Sometimes you can help someone more by taking a step back. Obviously if they are going into something that you can see will hurt them, then you have to let them know, but it is also good to give people some breathing space and the opportunity to make their own decisions...and mistakes.
A good friend is one who supports your decisions and is there to pick up the pieces if things go wrong, not to be over protective (although I am sure that if doing so, it is for the right reasons)
Go off and do something that doesn't involve your friend, it will make the time that you do spend together more special, and will make her appreciate what a good friend you actually are to her.

do you love this person as a friend or as something more are you to clingy?do you give them space do you both have other friends or do you stick mainly to this person?people need their space they need to feel you will be there for them but they don't need to feel crowded either .if she's your best friend she will always be there unless you do something to break the bond and it would be something bad really bad.you must have faith in her and let her have other friendships.sounds to me like you have stronger feelings for her than just friends,am i right?

She may have a point ..... back off a little ...... but continue to offer warmth and support ... just do it more from a distance. And let her come to you next time .... best friends seldom fail like that!
