I have bought cars with a suspended license. Some insurance companies specialize in insuring unlicensed drivers, but you will pay out the azz. But as long as you have insurance you can buy and register a car.

It is a must in Texas. However, not in many other States. Moreover the mere buying of a car does not necessarly meant that you are going to persoannly at the steering. You may be able to afford a chauffer. The licence even if suspended is the licence to drive and should not curtail your right to buy a fleet. If some States, like Texas, insist on verification it may make a suitable grievance to approach Courts for relief.

This aplies to Pennsylvania, and possibly other states ............
You DO NOT need a license to OWN a car.
If you want to drive the car, you'll need a license.
If you are financing the car, you'll need insurance, in which case you need a license.
But yes, you can atleast buy a car, from a dealer, without a license, which answers your question, Just don't plan on financing it or driving it till you get one.

Why might you purchase something you won't be able to use? might you purchase a snowboard in case you had no objective of ever going to the mountains interior the wintry climate. might you purchase a ATV in case you knew you had no thank you to get it to the woods? what's the component of spending your funds on something you won't be able to use? The info are you do no longer want a license to purchase a motor vehicle. how many circumstances has grandpa who's previous and no longer drives is going out and buys a motor vehicle for his grand little ones? completely criminal. there is not any requirement that pronounces you could desire to have a valid license to purchase a motor vehicle. yet you won't be able to sign up it, you won't be able to insure it and you particular as heck can not rigidity it with no license.

Rules and regs will vary from state to state. Ask your dealership or call DMV. And to the others, "What if you're buying the car (i.e. a limo or a limo company) and will not be driving it?" I know of several individuals who have bought cars and do not have licenses, figure that one out!

I am not sure about Texas, BUT in Massachusetts a license is NOT needed to own or register a car. If a person is old enough to legally purchase it they can own it in their name.
